DAY 1    ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU

 

DAY 2     SIGHTSEEING IN KATHMANDU VALLEY

A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley - Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Your trekking permits will be organized on this day.



DAY 3     FLIGHT TO POKHARA


DAY 4     FLIGHT TO JOMSOM, TREK TO MARPHA

Elevation Marpha: 2,667 meters
Trek Time: 4 - 5 hours

Take a morning flight to Jomsom via Pokhara. Lunch in Jomsom and an overnight stay for proper acclimatization.

Trek starts after a brief tea break in Jomsom. The trail is a well laid commercial trail and hence interesting aspects, landscape and culture diversity of the Thakali people will be on display along the way. Marpha is quite a civilized village of Thakali people with large impressive TASHI LHAKHANG GOMPA. This is a Nyingma Buddhist Gompa. Like all buildings in Marpha, it is painted with whitewash produced from a special local stone.


DAY 5     TREK TO KALOPANI

Elevation Kalopani: 2,530 meters
Trek Time: 5 - 6 hours

Trekking starts around 7am after breakfast. Mostly you walk along side Kaligandaki river to Tukche village. Tukche was the most important village of Thakeli people because it is the meeting point of salt and wood trade from Tibet and upper Thak valley. Treks continue through the valley of Kaligandaki with views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Annapurna I and Nilgari as well. Vegetation changes from a dry, desert-like to green pine forest.


DAY 6     TREK TO GHASA

Elevation Ghasa: 2,013 meters
Trek Time: 5 - 6 hours

Trekking starts around 7 am after breakfast. Walking short, ups and downs through green forests and some old villages.


DAY 7     TREK TO TATOPANI

Elevation Tatopani: 1,189 meters
Trek Time: 5 - 6 hours

Trekking starts around 7am after breakfast. Vegetation changes from mountain pine and birch to subtropical trees. Kaligandaki valley ends here, it is said to be the deepest in the world. On way down you will enjoy beautiful RUPSE CHHAHARA waterfall.


DAY 8     REST DAY TATOPANI

Tatopani means 'hot water' in Nepali, the village took its name from the hot springs near the river below the village. There are two cement pools on the banks of the river. You'll enjoy food prepared by well trained cooks in restaurants. Many shops, tailors, shoemakers, bookshops, and several jewelers are among Tatopani's facilities.


DAY 9     TREK TO GHOREPANI

Elevation Tatopani: 2,855 meters
Trek Time: 7 – 8 hours

Trekking starts around 7am after breakfast. Before the trails from Beni joins, there are few ups and downs. Trekking through some villages like Ghara, Shikha and Chitre, where at the end, is a trek through oak and magnolia and rhododendron forest. Once you are in Ghorepani you will enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna mountain range.


DAY 10     TREK TO TADAPANI, POON HILL

Elevation Tatopani: 3,100 meters
Trek Time: 6 - 7 hours

Trekking starts early around 5 am as to visit Poon hill for sunrise, where you can have one of the best panorama views. After having breakfast in Ghorepani, the path follows through deep pine and rhododendron forest with some small waterfalls. Tadapani means 'far water' because water supply in this village is in long distance.


DAY 11     TREK TO GHANDRUK

Trek Time: 4 - 5 hours

Trekking starts around 7 am after breakfast. This is Gurung village with pleasant views of Annapurna south, Hinchuli and Machhepuchere and many other mountains.


DAY 12     TREK TO NAYAPUL, DRIVE TO POKHARA

Trek Time: 4 - 5 hours

Trekking starts around 9am after breakfast. The trail is now at the bottom of the river valley passing through some lovely birch forest. Trekking alongside the river to rice terraces of Chimrong village. From Nayapul, the drive to Pokhara takes about 2 hours.


DAY 13     ADVENTURE IN POKHARA


DAY 14     FLIGHT BACK TO KATHMANDU


DAY 15     INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT out of KATHMANDU
